NTDA CHARGES LEKKI RESIDENTS ON MAINTAINANCE AND SUSTAINABILITY OF GOVERNMENT PROPERTIES WITHIN THE SCHEME.
The Management of New Towns Development Authority engaged the residents of Lekki Peninsula Scheme I on the maintenance and sustainability of the environment. The meeting was held on Wednesday 18th April, 2018 at the Lekki Southern Portion Zone.
The General Manager of the Authority, Mr. Wasiu Akewusola urged the residents to avoid any act of environmental nuisance and degradation which has undoubtedly led to the prevalence and frequency of shanties in and around the Lekki axis.
Mr. Akewusola used the opportunity to appeal to the residents to ensure that their environment is properly kept, because the clearing exercise of the shanties is causing the Government huge amount of resources which would have been channeled towards providing more infrastructure in the Scheme.
He further reiterate the commitment of the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in ensuring a safe, secure and sustainable environment.
In his response, the Vice Chairman of the Lekki I Residents Association (Zone 10 & 11), Mr. Linus Essien, pledged their unalloyed support to the State government and The Authority in ensuring compliance with the issues enumerated and promise to contact the Authority in case of any breakdown of law and order.
