LASG REITERATES COMMITMENT TO SCHEMES' DEVELOPMENT
Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to develop its land
schemes in line with the Themes+ Agenda and fastrack their development.
The General Manager, New Towns Development Authority (NTDA), Tpl.
Olakunle Aboyeji disclosed this at the inception meeting held with some
Consultants engaged to work on the updating of new Sites and Services
and Private Sector Developers Programme (PSDP) schemes of the State
Government such as Labour City Scheme, Free Trades Zone Area, Ibeju
Lekki; Ikeja Business District and Oregun Mixed Development and
Industrial Scheme.
Tpl. Aboyeji said the Labour City Scheme was reserved by the Lagos State
Government to build housing estates to accommodate workers in the Free
Trade Zone, Dangote Refinery, Lekki Deep Sea Port and numerous other
investments in area.
The GM urged the Consultant to ensure they observe the provisions of the
model city plan covering the scheme area, saying "the drone images
should be properly verified and spelt out."
He admonished the Consultants against misrepresentation and urged them
to do a diligent and through report of the physical areas while
capturing the survey of the existing land mass and villages.
Head, Town Planning Department (NTDA), Tpl. Olusola Orebiyi affirmed
that the Authority will avail the Consultants all necessary support
required to ensure that preliminary works for the new Site and Services
and Private Sector Developers Programme (PSDP) is carried out
seamlessly.
The Projects Consultants, Messrs Fortune Plus Consult; Dass Geospatial
Limited and Corporate Castles Limited thanked the Governor for the
opportunity afforded them to work on the project and promised that their
services will be done according to best practices and delivered within
the specified period of time.
